About Toronado Sportfishing
Toronado Sportfishing is Long Beach’s classic overnight platform for serious anglers and first-timers alike. We’ve spent decades running the Southern California coast and islands—Catalina, San Clemente, Santa Barbara, San Nicolas—and pushing offshore to the banks when the bite is on. Our mission is simple: safe, friendly, high-percentage trips that put you on quality fish and send you home smiling.
The Boat
Toronado is a spacious, overnight-ready sportfisher built for SoCal conditions—stable ride, wide rail, roomy deck, insulated fish holds, and a full hot galley. Bunks are clean and comfortable, with tackle storage, modern electronics, and a crew that keeps the rail moving and the deck clear.
Where We Fish
-
Islands & Coast: Catalina, San Clemente, Channel Islands, local reefs and hard-bottom structure.
-
Offshore: Tanner/Cortez and nearby banks when pelagics push in.
What We Catch
Season by season we target the species Southern California is famous for:
Bluefin tuna, yellowtail, white seabass, calico (kelp) bass, and rockfish — plus dorado and other visitors when conditions line up.
How We Fish
We match the program to conditions: fly-line sardines, surface iron and yo-yo jigs, sinker rigs for bluefin at night, dropper loops for rockfish, and stealthy kelp-line approaches for seabass and calicos. If you’re new, we’ll teach you. If you’re seasoned, we’ll give you room to hunt.
Our Promise
-
Safety first—professional wheelhouse and deck crew, clear briefings, and well-maintained gear.
-
Respect for the resource—handling fish the right way and following regulations.
-
Good vibes—a welcoming rail, hot meals, and help when you want it.
